Edible Bean Description Edible beans are a high management crop. Growers need to have a crop management strategy in place before going to the field to plant. A good crop management plan can help you avoid or better react to problems that occur in the field. Proper Field selection, soil testing, a 3-4 year crop rotation, use of "Western Grown" or "Certified Seed", a good weed control program, a disease management plan, and a harvest strategy will be beneficial to help prevent problems during the growing season.
